Teacher-Librarians Mrs. Coleman and Mrs. Selva, and Library-Technician Ms. Yip welcome you to the Library Resource Centre.
The library contains over 10,000 volumes of reference, non-fiction, and fiction books, extensive career, travel and tourism, and subject files, numerous magazines and videos, subscriptions to electronic databases, and audio-visual equipment. Students and staff are welcome to read, quietly study, view videos, and browse our collection.
The library's 20 computer stations are available for students to research and process course assignments. While a cart of 30 laptops are housed in the library, these are signed out by teachers for class use.
The library is open from 8:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. daily. Visitors are asked to maintain an environment conducive to concentrated study; groups of students who wish to lounge or talk loudly should do so in the cafeteria. Computers and a coin-operated photocopier are available.
Students have the opportunity to:
- Borrow materials for research and recreational reading
- Make effective use of print and electronic resources
- Extend learning through research, individual study, reading and appropriate use of technology
- Develop critical thinking and research skills for application in post-secondary pursuits
- Gain insights into the world of literature and the enjoyment of reading
- Receive individualized assistance from our staff

Library policies:
Please safeguard our resources ABSOLUTELY no food or beverages in the library. Bottled water will be permitted.
Students should leave coats, backpacks, gym bags, and other large bags in the their locker. Coats, backpacks and bags brought into the library must be placed in the designated area by the front gates. Students should keep valuable items (i.e. wallets, cell phones) on their person. The library assumes no liability for lost or stolen goods.
Books can be borrowed for three weeks. Vertical file folders contents, to a maximum of five items, can be borrowed for three days. Videos are available for previewing in the library.
Overdue book fines are 20 cents per day, to a maximum of $5.00. Students who lose resources will be required to pay the replacement cost. Students who incur excessive fines or costs will be required to perform detention duties in the library until such payment has been paid.
Photocopies and computer printouts cost ten cents per page. to purchase an overhead transparency, students must purchase the overhead from the library at a cost of 50 cents. Other transparencies have caused serious damage to the photocopier, at a repair cost exceeding $200.00.
Cards or board games are not allowed in the library. chat rooms, E-mails, and computer games are NOT permitted on library computers. The use of library computers is restricted to researches for course assignments and projects. Misuse of the computers will result in a withdrawal of privileges AND detention consequences.
Appropriate behaviour is expected from all students, at ALL times. Consequences for misbehaviour will include detention assignments and may result in referrals to an office administrator.
